Friday
Special schedule due to the half day. Students attended periods 8, 4, and 7 today.
Checked Journal Entry #10.
Watched segments from Germany's Last Gamble [Strachan - Disc 4] concerning the state of affairs in Germany and Austria-Hungary in 1918.
Handout: Theatres of War. Students used information from the front of the sheet to complete the chart on the back.
Homework
Journal Entry #11 and Theatres of War chart. Both are due Monday.
WWI test (covering lead-up to war, course of the war, and Treaty of Versailles) will be the week of April 5.

Wednesday
Students took Cornell Notes on Ch24 S2. After taking notes, generate a question for each capital letter (questions go in the left margin) and create one mini thinking map (of your choice) for any one of the capital letters (the mini thinking map goes on the right). Finally, do a summary of your notes at the end.
Homework
Finish the summary.
WWI test will be during the week of April 5.



Tuesday
Checked Journal Entry #9.
Watched History Channel video on the correspondence between soldiers and their families, from the American perspective [Dear Home: Soldiers and the Home Front].
Homework
Journal Entry #10. Be sure to incorporate information from the videos and handouts.



Monday
Checked Journal Entry #8 from before the Break.
Read about the food available to soldiers while they were engaged in trench warfare and learned more about the concept of total war as it related to the Great War (two handouts). A third handout depicted the regulation equipment of a WWI soldier.
