Week of Jan. 17

Friday
I collected the homework.
We worked on maps of Asia and Africa, coloring in the various colonies controlled by the major imperialist powers.
Homework
Finish the maps.



Thursday
I checked the homework (flashcards).
Students finished Cornell Notes on Ch 23 S3.
We then watched a segment from a History Channel video on TR's presidency and his part in the construction of the Panama Canal.
Homework
U.S. Overseas w/s - will need textbook and/or atlas to find some of the information. Due tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Map Day - if you have colored pencils, be sure to have them with you!



Wednesday
I collected notes and summaries from yesterday's video.
Students took Cornell Notes on Ch 23 S3. There will be time tomorrow to finish the section.
Homework
txtbk p. 674, Terms and Names - Using a blank sheet of paper, create flashcards with the term on one side and the definition on the other. Study the terms. You can use index cards if you prefer.



Tuesday
P7 was shortened due to the ACE Assembly.
Students watched and took notes on a segment from a History Channel video on the growth of cites in the U.S. around the end of the 19th century.
Homework
Paragraph summarizing what you saw in the video.
